| Leadership Tip of the Month: Mentally Master Chaos |
In an increasingly global, volatile and chaotic business landscape, thriving as a leader requires the mental agility to deal with change and uncertainty:
- Reframe your thoughts. Thoughts control your actions and emotions. When a negative thought enters your mind, label it as such and immediately replace it with a positive one.
- Speak more positively. Minimize your use of contractions like "can't," "won't" and "don't" from your vocabulary. Changing your language disciplines your brain to look for the positive in everything -- especially when things are uncertain.
- Practice flexible thinking. One of your most valuable assets as a leader is to create something entirely new. Be willing to abandon old notions and established practices that don't serve you well. Embrace different viewpoints and explore multiple approaches to achieving a goal.
